The bodies of a man and a woman continue
their investigation into the opposing forces
and states of equilibrium that emerge in their
interaction.. They work on scale, and use the
body as a measuring unit, measuring the space
and the relation of bodies to that space. But
the body itself, too, can act as a surface and
a floor, which may even be walked upon.

Theatre Research Laboratory (TAL) of the City
Theatre in Istanbul in 1996. At that time, this
"Laboratory" was run by Beklan Algan and Ayla Algan,
who accepted supporting dance and movement
research in their premises. However, as the
boundaries of the bureaucratic Municipality
Theatre became apparent, the founder Mustafa
Kaplan and other members of the group quit the
theatre in 2000 to undertake the difficult task of
building their own studio. There was no financial
support or whatsoever, only the excitement of the
independent dance scene, which literally joined in
for the construction works of the CATI Studio in an
old building in Istanbul. CATI Studio, apart from
being the new home of Taldans Company, hosts
various artists from abroad for workshops and
projects and encourages younger resident dancers
to create their own work.

sur l’échelle, et se servent du corps comme
une unité de mesure, mesurant l’espace et
la relation des corps à cet espace. Mais le
corps lui-même peut aussi agir comme un
espace et un plafond, sur lequel on peut
marcher.

Laboratory (TAL) qui faisait partie du Théâtre
Municipal d'Istanbul. A cette époque le "Laboratoire"
était mené par Beklan Algan et Ayla Algan, qui ont
accepté de soutenir la danse et le mouvement à
leurs prémisses. Néanmoins, comme les limites
bureaucratiques du Théâtre Municipal devenaient de
plus en plus apparentes, le fondateur Mustafa
Kaplan et d’autres membres de la compagnie ont
quitté le théâtre en 2000 et ont entrepris la lourde
tâche de construire leur propre studio. Il n’y avait
aucun soutient financier, seule l’excitation de créer
une communauté de danseurs indépendante qui
s’est joint aux travaux de construction de CATI
Studio dans un ancien bâtiment d'Istanbul. Cati
Studio, en plus d’être la nouvelle maison de Taldans
Company, accueille différents artistes de
l’étranger pour des ateliers et des projets et
encourage les jeunes danseurs résidents à créer leur
propre travail.
